That is lovely! I love the monochromatic colours; they really focus the attention. There are no superfluousness details to distract from the main subject: it’s all about these two brothers.

This picture could also be seen as another one of you challenges: “Write a story to match this pic”, with “We have the whole night ahead of us…” as an extra hint to the author… I know I’d love to read that!

Ha, I know I’d love to read that too :) Thank you so much, iris, for your kind words!!

Backgrounds, yes, a tricky subject. In fact, I had been thinking of making this a more distinct location, most likely a… hayloft :3
Sneaking out to a hayloft for several hours of love on a fragrant summer night, getting straw in our hair…
But then indeed I thought, the place is not the point, and if one wants to imagine they are in a barn, one still can (I hope).

I’m thinking of drawing these two in a lake next time – then, I guess, the background will be needed :)))

Just perfect….

Bless my soul! Is there anything you cannot do? The highlights! The shadows! The slightly steamy spotlight that implies the possibility of space, as if they were surrounded by the walls of a room even if it can´t be seen in the gloaming.

And you very skillfully chose the image section. It gives the picture a palpable warmth and intimacy. It makes me feel as if I had just become awake next to them, close enough to reach out and touch (which of course I woud never dare). Such a wonderful piece of art!

Haha, apparently I cannot, for the life of me, make normal pancakes with the local milk. I’ve tried, I don’t know, two dozen times – they just aren’t the same (tears hair out)!

Anyway, I’m also quite strongly convinced I can’t draw – so compliments such as yours, Raven, especially coming from someone who seems to be specialising in the visual, well, it means very much to me. And it warms my soul, and makes me want to get the tablet out again, wipe the inch of dust off it and try to poop something out again xD

Thanks so much for the kind encouragement!!

Another lovely one!!! However did I miss it earlier?? I love the colour and the shading and the kiss, and Boromir’s hands and Faramir’s ears. Very very lovely!

Wow, thank you, Minx!! It means a lot! (The ear was a bitch to draw, lol)
