It has been a fortnight since I last wrote, and I am still in Gondor, locked away from my beloved Faramir. I have managed to stretch the 2 days I was given into many more by allowing Boromir to visit my rooms and try to convince me that he is a better choice as a mate. He tells me he is braver and stronger than Faramir, and that I would be a fool to pass up even one night with him in favor of a lifetime with his younger, weaker brother.

I grit my teeth when he says this, but I cannot afford to be banished from Gondor’s borders, so I say very little in response.

I know you are both thinking of packing your bows and coming to help me sort this out, but you must restrain yourselves. I have a plan that, if it works, will involve no violence, put Boromir in his place, and allow me to win Faramir’s hand in the end.

I only wish I could tell Faramir about it beforehand, but Boromir has forbidden any contact between us, even a note delivered by a servant.

You see, I am going to give Boromir exactly what he wants, beginning tonight.

And by the setting of the next new moon, he will be wishing he had never laid eyes, let alone a hand, on his brother’s Elf.
