Notes: this was originally written a while back (2 Years), on a dare of my dear cousin Jenny. I fixed it up as well as my spellchecker and I could, but it is far from perfect I fear. I hope it doesn’t mar the story. She dared me back then, to write the most unusual Couple that I could come up with that had not been written down before in this genre…needless to say, that I had a real problem on my hands! Later she didn’t want it and took another one of my stories instead. And this one ended up inside my drawer for two years.
I now dedicate it to Iris from this site, since she was so nice and helped me out when I created a mess with accidentally creating an existing story again by accident.
I still do believe that I am the only one that came up with this one and are somewhat proud of it still that I managed it to find one. The story itself is a little silly; at least I do think so.
Anyways, I hope you like it, Iris!
Your grateful, Suryallee

Step one: Confuse the Valar…
“Pardon me… could you please repeat that once more, Namo? I think I did not hear you right.”
The dark haired Lord of Mandos just gave the Lord of the breath of Arda a glare that could have turned the milk sour and refused to repeat himself. He did know very well that the first Lord of the Valar had heard him just right.
Next to the a little befuddled Manwe Sulimo sat his wife with an equally confused look on her face. Actually, all of them looked rather bewildered at the newest news that the minder of the death had just told them in his usual calm voice.
“You heard me.”
Next to the throne, Orome shook his head in his bewilderment.
“Explain then at least, how it is possible to lose a fea by accident!”
“And that into a timeline it does not belong to, I might add!” The Lord of the waters in Arda, Ulmo added in equal bafflement.
Next to both Niena sat shell-shocked holding hands with Este while Lórien arched a brow at his brother. “Not to affront you, brother but they are right. How is that possible and to whom belongs the soul in the first place. Since I do not believe that this is a light case. You would not be here if it was that way…are I correct?”
The dark Vala nodded once. “It is not. He is the hidden son of Olorin and Finduilas that we speak about here.”
“What?! How could that happen?!” Ulmo and Tulkas boomed together in perfect unison through the council room all had gathered in on Namo’s request. Manwe just cradled his head in his hands, his wife gulped and the rest of the mighty Powers of the West had equally bewildered reactions to that news.
“Namo,” Varda finally addressed the Lord of Mandos. “are you trying telling me that Niana’s servant, who is dear to us all, has lost the son, that we have so desperate tried to keep safe?” Namo shook his head. “Not exactly.” Was all he told her. She gave him a glare. “You are testing my patience, Namo! What exactly does it mean then?”
Namo appeared unruffled as usual. “Actually, for the first time since the creation, I don’t know either. He is not dead, and by all means he should be fine and never have crossed my realm to begin with but instead he is in coma right now and his fea gone to Eru only knows where.”
All looked at the grim Vala in shock.
Finally, Manwe stood and approached Namo who stood inside the ring. “I think you should tell us of all what you know so far, my brother.” The dark Vala nodded and began his report functionally and calm as ever.
“As far as I have found it out it seems there has been an accident that did lead to this unique mess, my Lord.” With that, a strange picture appeared above in the air that showed the others what had happened.
A few days before on Arda…
Faramir followed Merry and Pippin on silent feet around in the old store halls of the palace. In the late, the two had often snuck off in here and he wanted to know why. What he found out wasn’t so surprising to him at all. The two Hobbit’s had found the old chamber with the hidden items that the King and he had deemed too dangerous to be stored away in normal rooms and amused themselves with looking into the old Palantir.
“What do you two think that you ar…” At that moment, Pippin threw the cursed stone in the air in his shock of being caught and the glittering dark ball caught the attention of Faramir’s eyes. From one minute to the next, the man fell down and was out cold before he hit the ground.
Present…
The Valar watched the two hobbit’s hop frantically around for some seconds in shock before Merry took off to get help meanwhile a crying Pippin apologized to an unconscious Faramir all the time.
The picture in the air vanished.
“Since then he has been in coma. His fea shortly came to my halls, what surprised me since I had not awaited his arrival there in any way, ever. He was by no means supposed to die and come there, but to sail, as well you all know too. Later in life with Legolas and Gimli together when he knew whom he really is. Instead, he appeared suddenly in my halls and then he simply vanished while I approached him.
A new picture appeared above his head in the room.
“…What is that child doing here? He is not supposed to be here.” Namo was seen walking toward the confused looking Fea of the young human, half Maia that stood looking lost in his halls. Faramir had only one moment to recognize Namo for who he was before his surprised soul vanished again. He left a unusually surprised looking Vala of death behind.
The picture vanished once again.
“As you all can see this was even a shock to me.” He told them solemn. “I could not find out first to where he went, then he suddenly showed up on one of my wife’s old tapestries and that was that.”
At that, all looked around mystified at each other.
Ulmo finally found his voice back first. “In which one, Namo. Because, I have suddenly a very bad feeling about this all.”
The darker of the two mighty Vala nodded at that. “As you should. She wove that one around the time when Feanor and his Sons reached Arda. It shows the night of the burning of the Swanships to be exact.”
All fell silent.
Lórien finally voiced out what the most thought anyways. “I take it that this is the work of the One itself then, but why should he do this?”
Namo nodded calmly. “I think the same and know it not. The only thing I can say is, that it looks that we missed something in the past.”
With that, all fell silent again.
“Well then,” The Lord of the wind told them all. “let us see how we can fix this first class mess up again. He does not belong there and I doubt it that Eru intended for him to stay there like this forever.”
Step Two: Have several strange battles… pardon, talks, with some hotheaded redheads through one or some more ages…
Where am I? Faramir was confused. One minute he had reprimanded the Hobbits and in the next, he had stood in the Halls of the dead. Moreover, to top that again, in the very next he was moved to a new place from a force he could not name.
Who is there?! If that is you, my brother I swear to the Vala: I am going to kill you this time my twin!
I am sorry?
…? You definitely are not my twin! Who by Morgoth’s balls are you and what are you doing in my body?
Slowly it dimmed to Faramir why he could not see and feel anything besides darkness and the strange sensation that he did not belong here at all.
A second voice joined the first in his dark place. It sounded almost exactly like the first one and felt even the same in a way and not. What confused the poor man endlessly.
Indeed it is not me! Who is riding in your body my brother? And don’t cuss! You know how Father reacts if he catches us cussing! Even if we only do it in mind speak.
Faramir choose to cut in before this ended into a siblings quarrel. Uhm, excuse me, but who exactly are you and why am I here? For a few moment the only thing he could feel was the surprise and confusion of someone else.
You mean, you don’t know either? The second voice asked Faramir disbelievingly. The human wished he had a head to shake.
Don’t do that, you fool! I look like an idiot doing that. the first voice suddenly told the shocked human. Amrod, why can this fea control my body?
The other answered his brother and Faramir who asked himself the same question unknowingly too right away. I do not know! I never heard of such before…. Well strange fea my name is Amrod and you, my strange friend are currently invading the body of my brother, what is forbidden I might add!
Faramir felt like fainting. If these two were who he thought that they had to be, then he was in deep trouble.
And that when I finally found someplace to hide out from father and our brothers. I just wanted a little peace and silence to think… is that too much to ask for, the water looked so calming… He trailed off.
Faramir he knew he should remember something…it was something important, he just knew it! Suddenly it hit him. Are you on one of the Swanships right now, Amras? Please just answer me! The one that Faramir believed to be Amras seemed surprised by the vehemence of his question and worry and to Faramirs luck chose to indulge him.
Yes, why?
The poor man panicked for a minute then he simply wished feverously to run out of the ship on his highest speed and to leave the area all together what had the Elf, whose body he commanded that way cuss worse as an Ork at him.
Why do you do…? Valar! Amrod why are the other ships burning?!?
What! Don’t tell me you are on one of them! Sweat Arda, oh please noo! Get out of there, NOW! Father has set the ships on fire!!?? The Voice of Amrod was filled with the emotion of sheer terror.
Faramir still wished he were running away from the ships with all the will he had.
Oh for the love of Varda! Stop it, we are already off the ship you fool! I will drown if I cannot swim! The first twin told Faramir suddenly and the man felt a strange force try to wrestle with him for a moment before he felt like he was swimming in water…very cold water! Amrod stop screaming and tell Maitomo that he should not search for me on the ships, I…we are in the water.
You are? Oh, praise the Lady of the stars! … I have told him, he is going to get a little boat to get you out. The second twin told both, Faramir and Amrod.
I am sorry Lord Amras. For taking over, however I managed that, I mean. But after I realized who you are, I had to bring you from the ship, please forgive me?
Well you succeeded and rescued my life in the same second, just how did you know?
Thank you!
Faramir slowly got the idea of how this worked and what was happening to them both…although he had no idea how he had ended up as a passenger of Amras and how it was even possible.
Uhh, you’re welcome Lord Amrod and I fear that the explanation how I did know that staying was going to kill you if you had not left, is a little complicated to explain, I fear. However, my name is Faramir.
What kind of name is that?
Yes, it sounds not elvish at all.
…maybe that is because I am not an elf?
What? How is that… please tell me that you are not an Ork or worse one of Morgoth’s cursed creatures!
I am not! I am a Human err, Adan…well normally, I am and trust me, I don’t have any clue either how I ended up in this time or in your body, sorry.
At that admission, all three fell silent.
Brother, remember Mothers teachings? I mean how we can see ourselves inside of our mind?
The first twin in whom Faramir was in seemed to nod, how Faramir knew that Amras did so was still beyond him.
I do. That is a good idea. Listen, Faramir in my head, stay silent for a moment and do NOT do that body takeover again, we have reached the boat. I would rather not to have to explain my fussing older brother that I have another fea in my body. He would think I have gone insane or worse, tell our father.
Faramir tried to do nothing at all. Only moments later, he found himself back inside of a room.
“Oh praise the Vala! At least now I can talk and move on my own again.” The chuckles of someone next to him made the poor man look to his left. He promptly had to keep himself from gapping at the two gorgeous Elves that stood there. Both watched him with equally searching and amazed eyes as he did watch them.
Both were identical in looks and body as it looked.
The twins were both tall and slender graced with a body that had the build of an archer, with wide shoulders, narrow and trim waists and long legs. However, the most stunning features on them both were the eyes and the hair color. Both had bright, almost glowing grey eyes of the color of storm clouds and bright red hair. One wore it braided into a long braid falling over his left shoulder and the other to the right.
The hair of both elves had to reach down to their buttocks when loose, Faramir noted distracted from the length.
“Well, well, well… if that isn’t it my strange friend from a few years before then I don’t know who you should be. Faramir I guess?” The twin that had spoken wore the left braid and Faramir kept that in mind for later. Else, he would confuse them for sure. “Yes. I… am Faramir of Gondor actually… not that, that this will tell you much I fear, my Lords.” Faramir bowed his head at them and blushed at his sudden stammer, but who could blame him? Both elves looked simply gorgeous and he had seen a lot beautiful elves in the late years, Legolas being one of them but never had Faramir before met such a couple in his entire life. Not even the dark brothers of the queen could catch up to these two. He watched the one that he had identified as Amras walk over to a bed that had appeared in the room to sit on it. The longer he looked around the more furniture seem to appear. The walls became stone; hung with tapestries of exquisite quality that showed hunting scenes and even a window appeared in one wall. It showed him the view of a big Forrest.
Exquisite weapons lay carelessly leaned against the walls or lain onto chairs and two sets of armor were stored at one wall side on holders that seem custom made to hold them. Faramir noted that both had gems of three different jewels laid into the breastplate with seven stars surrounding the gems. He almost ogled at the metal. What wasn’t a wonder because both of them seemed to be fully wrought out of Mithril. What made the sets extremely expensive and stunning to begin with and even the chainmail’s had been made of it, to chose from the looks of them. Even he knew that much and he wasn’t even a smith, just a warrior who could appreciate a fine armor and the work of a excellent smith. Both obviously were the works of a Master Smith and looked breathtakingly beautifully deadly all together in one and fully identical too.
Faramir figured that their famous father must have wrought them for his sons along with the weapons. He could think of no one else besides the Dwarf’s who could make such fine works.
The second twin, Amrod walked over to Faramir too look at him for a long moment. “You were suddenly gone, my twin told me later. We never figured out to where you had vanished to. Not even Father could when we told him about you. Nelyafinwe thought that you were a ghost. That was a good century and a half ago.” He told the surprised man with a breathtaking looking smile.
Faramir could only blink at that. “For me it was just a moment, since your brother told me to do nothing. Therefore, I did nothing… strange. It seems that has made me appear here this time… where ever that is.” He sat down onto a freshly appeared chair in shock and held out his arms to indicate that he meant the room.
Faramir noted confused that he still wore his own attire of a Steward of Gondor when both sets of elven eyes fixed onto the picture of the tree of Gondor stitched onto the front of it in silver treat.
“Actually, you are again or better said, still in my mind. Out of a point I do not understand either.” Amras told Faramir. He stood again and walked over to the other two in the room. There he crouched down before the dazed looking Faramir and looked him straight into the eyes. “What is confusing me, to put it mildly. We can create an illusion in our minds, so to speak. “He pointed at the room behind him and around them. “It is a picture from our current home, so to speak. Amrod and I use it to talk in private and for… other things.” He grinned charmingly at Faramir who felt like a mouse under the gaze of a cat in that moment, with Amras being the cat in that respect… what unnerved the man to no end. “However, we asked around at first. No one seemed to know you or had ever heard of you. Thus, we figured that you had gone back to wherever you came from. Now, I at last, begin to understand what exactly you are, Faramir.” He told the man whilst looking at him still.
“You are one of the second born, am I right?”
Faramir nodded slowly.
The twin nodded too. “As I thought, there was no other possible explanation of what you could have been besides some truly ugly ones.” He reached out with one hand to the startled Faramir only to stop his move midair seeing the man flinch somewhat. “May I? I only want to have a better look on your ears that is all. They make me and my twin curios. Since they look so different from ours.” He told Faramir in a much gentler voice as before. The man indulged the elf with a nod and let the hand shift his hair away from his ear on the left side of his face so both could have a better look at it. “I take it then that my ancestors have not appeared in Arda until now?” He asked whilst trying to suppress a shudder from the soft touch.
Those two elves were dangerously beautiful and he had the feeling that they knew of their allure to others such as him only all too well. Faramir refused to show them how much they affected him. Having learned that already, that it was never good to show confusion or interest in front of elves; it lead to dilemmas. It made them only more curios and got their interest with ease. He had seen too, to what troubles that could lead in Ithilien and often just barely avoided accidental political and personal disasters in the past.
Elves, as Aragorn put it rightfully once, could be a real pain when they were trying to solve a puzzle out or when they became too enamored with humans.
“No, they have not awakened to the now as far as we do know it. You look almost as one of my kin, Faramir. Besides that strange ears and that beard of yours one could think that you are an elf yourself!” Amrod told the surprised man bewildered. “Didn’t the Vala tell us that the second born will look a different from us? Well, if you do not count that beard of his and he does not look as old as Cirdan is to have one, he does not look too different to me.” He told his equally confused looking brother.
Amras nodded at his brother and traced with a finger shortly over Faramir’s ear shell. What made Faramir involuntary shudder and rub his ear in an endearing manner. He scowled at the elf crouching in front of him. Amras just chuckled at this and looked sideways at his still standing brother with a twinkle in his eyes. “It is as you tell, brother. They did tell us that. I wonder…” Amras looked more closely into the eyes of Faramir who fought down the sudden urge to squirm under the grey gaze.
“I don’t know why I know it, but you have elven blood in your line, don’t you?” Amras looked completely astonished at the man. Faramir could only nod and gulp. “Yes I do although that was a long time ago when it came into my line but I feel that I can’t tell you about it. Something just seems to tell me not to do so, what is feeling really strange, I can tell you!”
Both elves nodded. “Then, my friend, it seems that you should not. Who knows what the Valar thought when they made this happen. Amrod told Faramir with another of his charming smiles when he stood. He walked over to the window to look out of it.
“I agree with my twin here. It seems better to head them in this; we do not want you to end up like us. Or have you done something to anger them too?” Amrod leaned now against the chair in which Faramir sat. Faramir could only shake his head this time. “Not that I know of, Lord Amrod. As far I know it, I rather did the opposite or so… someone once told me.” Faramir rubbed his face in a drained manner before he looked at the surprised looking twins again. “They just did it again, sorry.” The two nodded looking baffled.
Suddenly both elves looked at each other alarmed. Then Amrod tried to reach out to Faramir to grasp his arm but before he reached the surprised human, all vanished again and Faramir found himself back in the dark.
However, this time Faramir was almost glad that it happened. The two youngest sons’ of Feanor were too intense for him to stay too long in their presence. They had an odd effect on him, as it seemed. One, which made Faramir uncomfortable and that confused the hell out of the poor man. Not to mention, that he really, really did not want to ever have to explain these kinds of desires to his wife! Éowyn would divorce him instantly, Faramir was sure, if she ever found out that he was also attracted to males. She had enough to deal with already anyways. The darkness seemed to vanish a few moments later.
This time the room took less time to appear around him and it looked different too.
He found himself back inside of an underground cave room. From the looks of it, the room had been carved out marvelously. Around him, the floor was littered with the bodies of dead elves. In the middle of them stood, a couple that looked like royalty and some ferocious looking warriors seem to take a pair of elflings away with them out of the room. He could make out Amras and Amrod under the tall and fierce looking warriors that surrounded the couple and a dying elf that was hold from another. The seven nearest to the couple and the dying elf had similar Armors on which showed the same design as the ones Faramir saw before. The twins seemed shortly to see him standing here before they shrugged it off and turned their eyes back to the battle that just did begin between Dior and one of their brothers.
How Faramir knew them to be the twins was beyond him, he just did. He shuddered at the cold and impassive look inside the eyes of all of the elves surrounding the couple. They looked like possessed men and Faramir suddenly felt sorry for both, the Feanorion’s and the couple.
Faramir knew not what overcame him to do so, but he run after the elven warriors with the twin elflings. Well knowing of what was happening here. For a second his own momentum drew him forward through a wall and he realized that he still was only a kind of ghost in this play.
Then he recovered from his shock and followed the elves outside into a Forrest.
He finally reached them when they stopped at a small clearing and simply set the elflings down there to leave them here. Before he knew what he did, Faramir kneeled down and took both into his arms… or better told he tried to.
What was more confusing to him was that he actually managed touch them! Both little ones promptly clung to the tall man that smiled down at them and had appeared out of the nowhere when the nasty elves where gone. The twin elflings were eager in their need to search for comfort since all that horror had begun and the man was feeling strangely friendly and warm. Somehow, both just knew that he would keep them safe and protected. One lost a shoe in his haste to reach for Faramir and the other ripped out some of his hairs on a bush.
Faramir did not worry all too much about that when a wolf howled near them three and simply took both onto his arms, and did run as fast as he could, back to the caves that he had just left to suddenly step into darkness instead.
Again, he was in complete darkness. Only difference, this time the two little ones were in here too with him, he could feel them stick to him still.
When again the darkness vanished, all three stood inside of a new room. This time it was another bedroom. Both twins gapped at Faramir and the little twins on his arms in astonishment when they suddenly appeared unexpectedly. As did two other elves, do too. One with red hair like the twins, one with black hair like a raven’s wing, and both looked equally striking as the twins. The latter sat down in his shock seeing him suddenly appear without warning.
“What is this?! How…? Are you a ghost?” The older looking red head asked flabbergasted the equally baffled Faramir. Before Faramir could answer, Amras cut in. “No, Nelya, this is the soul we told you about, his name is Faramir, remember?” The one called thus nodded. “We only ever saw him in my mind… until Doriath, that is. There we thought shortly that we had seen him standing in the throne room with us but thought we had seen wrong. As it looks he really was there.”
The black haired one nodded. “Yes, that seems to be the case. Those two are Dior’s twin children I recognize them. The ones that you could not find in the Forrest, Nelya. Seems to me, he found them in our stead.”
Faramir could not help it; he simply exploded before he could get a hold on himself.
“What in the name of the One was your brother’s thinking to let them taken out into the wilds, they can barely walk!!” All elves in the room cringed at his volume and anger visibly. Yet, Faramir did not seem to see it. Instead, he walked briskly over to the table, set the little elflings onto the chairs at it before he turned again, and stalked over to Amrod and Amras to fix them both with his incensed stare, balling his fists at his sides in his anger.
Both elves made some steps backwards in their shock to see him advance on them in his ire.
“And what, in the name of all in Arda were you two thinking you were doing when you let those pigs go in the first place! Have all of you no shame at all? Taking out your damned oath at two innocent elflings?!” Faramir shook with his suppressed rage by now and unknown to him he truly made a frightening picture. Because, also unknown to the man, he had begun to glow in an eerily bright light that filled the room out. To the astonished elves, it looked like his body was surrounded by blazing white fire that seemed to come from the inside of him in his fury.
“Aia, he looks like father at his best! What in the name of Arda is he, he looks like a human but I have never heard that one can look like this before!” The one that Faramir thought to be Maglor told the others with a surprised voice. The eldest of Feanor’s sons eyed Faramir for a moment before he stepped over to the man. “Stop it! We know that they and we too did wrong to them. But what you do not understand is what power that cursed oath holds over us!” He told Faramir, over whom he towered with ease since Maitomo Feanorion was at least a head taller as Faramir.
What did not faze the man much in his rage.
“Oh, really? I wasn’t aware of that… Of course, I do know that! For how stupid do you take me to be? It isn’t the point here, eldest son of Feanor, and you know that as well!” He daringly held the equally incensed glare directed at him with his own one until the eldest of the brothers finally carved in with a sigh and looked away first.
“You are right; I do know that all too well myself.” The elf turned abruptly away from the man to sit heavily down into a chair next to the man and him. There he covered his face with his only hand and bowed his head. Suddenly Faramir felt sorry for the elf and his brothers, so much in fact that he almost wanted to cry. Calming down he too walked over to a chair, next to the wide-eyed little ones and sat down too.
Staring down unseeingly at the floorboards, he spoke in a much calmer voice.
“I apologize. I should not have yelled at you it does not become one to do so. I don’t know what came over me…” Maedhros unknowingly copied the man and he too stared down at the floorboards. “Accepted. I understand your anger better as you think.”
Faramir could only shake his head as an answer. Leaning back in his chair he instead looked up at the ceiling before he rubbed his face with his left hand and put his right arm around the shoulders of nearest of the little twins.
The little elf promptly crawled into his lap.
“I know from the Lore that you have had no choice as to do what you did. It saddens me beyond I can tell you, Elf.” Faramir gave the eldest of the four in the room a lopsided and grim smile. It was echoed from the elf. “Since I believe somehow, that besides the oath, you and your brothers could have been my friends since I actually like you somehow. And please, don’t misunderstand me but I don’t understand what your father was thinking to make you swear such a foul thing in the first place. From what I was taught he was essentially a wise elf that seems to have loved you all very much …I never understood it in the past and most likely never will in the future. To say it with one of my Wife’s favorite phrases; if wishes were horses…”
All four of the reminding sons of Feanor gave him an odd look.
“You know a lot about us but we do not know anything about you, Faramir. You indeed are an unusual one, my friend.” Amrod told Faramir that before he took the chair next to the man and sat heavily down too. “I have never met one who wanted to befriend us or even likes us well knowing who we are and what we did.” The elf shook his head in bewilderment.
Amras shrugged and sat onto the floor near his twin brother and Faramir, since all chairs were occupied.
“They look like ghosts now too, just like you do too.” He turned to Faramir and pointed at the little twins. “Any idea why that is?” The man shook his head. “Not a single one, I fear. All I know is that they are not death.” He patted the elfling next to him on the small head and smiled at the twin in his lap. Suddenly he missed his son badly. “I feel like my strange journey slowly comes to an end, Amras. Whatever that means. Neither do I have any clue why I did end up here and in your head at first in the first place. Or why I could touch them and take them with me. I am even no longer sure that the Valar have something to do with it. I rather begin to believe in the opposite.” He confessed to the elf in a calm voice.
Faramir thought over his own words for a moment.
“It rather feels like someone else put this into motion. The why eludes me as much as you but I think it had to do with the little ones here and you.” Faramir shrugged.
All of the adult elves in the room looked at each other confused.
“This is truly a strange situation. You do simply appear somewhere and that is it?” Maglor asked confused. Faramir nodded at the alluring singer. The voice of this elf made one wish you could listen to him forever. He marveled at that and the thought of how beautiful it must sound when the other was singing. “All else between those moments are darkness and a feeling of not having hands or a body at all… like I am there and not. Does that make any sense to anyone of you?” One after one the elves shook their heads.
“Thought so.” Faramir murmured wearily. What gained him soft chuckles from all in the room.
Amras reached up to the man and took a hold of his hand. Strangely enough, it worked and for a moment, Faramir felt comforted by that simple gesture and distracted by the softness of the skin of the elf.
In his mind, Faramir suddenly truly wished sincerely that he could change history, even knowing that it was impossible and wrong.
“I wish I could change the course of your fates.” He told the elves with simple honesty and really meaning it and suddenly all went black.
Step three: Make decisions and learn to life with the consequences… or, why one should never wish too badly for something…
He did not know where he had ended up this time but from the looks of it, he was back in Mandos… somehow.
Around him the vast corridors of the grey halls stretched seemingly endlessly on into the distance. Two particular ways glowed strangely.
Inside of his mind, he could hear a voice, or something that seemed to be one, asking him a question.
Chose wisely, young child of Olorin and Finduilas.
One of these ways leads you back to your life. You will remember nothing of this all and live on as before. As the Steward of Gondor’s new King. You will have a long life with your wife and son and you will be happy and contend.
One of the two roads that had appeared glowed softly; it was the first one.
The other will give them and your line too, indeed another fate. All of them, not only the ones that you saw, but the being that you are now, will die.
Tell me child, how deep is your compassion…?
Which way shall it be, child?
Faramirs mind reeled. Why did that voice call him the son of Olorin who he knew was the true name of Gandalf. He was the son of Denethor… The man tried to get it in that he seemingly was not and the implications shocked Faramir to the core. Now many things in his past suddenly made a weird sense to him.
He could not tell how long he simply stood there and thought of all and nothing all together.
In the end, Faramir made his decision.
Calming himself for whatever was to come; he clasped his hands behind his back and smiled up into the grey nothing that was the ceiling of this weird place.
“Then, with all due respect sire, I will choose the second one, because I truly believe that it is the right one to do so.” He told whoever it was that had asked him this strange question earnestly.
Very well. So shall it be then. Farewell child. Until we met again
Before the confused Faramir could understand, what was going on, a great pain went through him and all went again, black.
“Faramir! Thank the Valar, you are awake again!” Aragorn watched concerned as Merry and Pippin practically hugged Faramir half back into unconscious.
The last days had been surprising to put it mildly.
In addition, the pale man on the bed was responsible for all the weird things that had happened to his poor Kingdom without to know it. Carefully he approached the group. “Merry, Pippin, why don’t you two do not go and play a little with the little ones? I need to talk to our friend, ok?” Both Hobbit’s nodded and fast run out of the door with promises to return later.
Aragorn looked at the ruffled looking Faramir on the bedding who rubbed his hands as if they could vanish at any second. He could not blame him from what he did know.
“Be at peace, Faramir. It is over.” The man looked up at Aragorn in confusion.“What do you mean?” The King groaned and rubbed his face. He went his eyes back to Faramir’s. “As it seems, you were not the son of Denethor at all. Your mother had an affair with Gandalf from what I was told and found to be true. And let me tell you, that was the weirdest conservation that I ever had in my life with him!” Faramir chose wisely not to comment on that. he guessed he would have his own fair share of that in the future. Gandalf owned him some answers! “As it looks, the One had a little trouble where to place you in Arda because of this and wanted to see where you would fit in better, since you are half Maia and half Human.” Aragorn waited until that had sunk in.
“He had trouble with placing me?” Faramir felt more confused as before, if that was even possible. He remembered all and slowly it begun to dim to him what the voice had meant with dying. “I am a human no more… are I?”
Aragorn nodded.
“He choose the moment the cursed Seeing Stone took a hold on you to interfere with the situation. And from what I was told, he did send you on quite a journey, eh?” Faramir could only nod in his bewilderment. “You could say that. But how do you know?” Aragorn smiled. “Let’s say we have a bunch of strange visitors here since a few days and that they gave me some pointers.” He told his friend with a grin.
“And let’s also say that they have told me a lot in the last days too, besides all the problems they have caused in my realm since appearing here!” Aragorn looked rather put on for a moment.” Besides that, the herald of Manwe has also suddenly appeared in our midst and explained all to me. As it looks, I will lose you over a time to Valinor, my friend. However, let us not talk of this now. He will tell you later himself. Until then, rest and recover first. You will properly find out that you changed a bit in your sleep. Don’t be alarmed about that, Faramir, I was told that that is fairly normal. And better steel yourself, there are many who want to met or visit you here and I fear you will need the rest later!”
With that and a last smile Aragorn left, the endlessly confused Faramir, on the bed and alone in the room.
Hours later Faramir could only watch his wife walk out of his life, together with Éomer. The latter looked rather uncomfortable at his friend. He had feared that this marriage was an error from the start. His beloved sister was fragile in her mind at best, since the war. Now she had done what the King of Rohan had always feared to happen, eventually. She could not deal with the thought that Faramir and her son and surprisingly she too would never age as humans did from now on and had dissolved the marriage.
It was not out of spite the she did it just that she could not deal with this all in her shock state that had never left her fully… sadly. He shook his head in sadness and wished not for the first time that she would heal.
Faramir gave Éomer an understanding look. “I don’t blame her, Éomer. I have been aware before that to marry each other was an error on both sides. We tried to make this work for our son but it did not work out.” The King nodded, relieve clearly on his face.
“You… you know then I take it?” Faramir nodded. “I somewhat asked her once and after some probing she told me about the time in Helms deep. And about Aragorn and the elf too, if that is what you mean to ask.” He looked at Éomer calmly.
The young King tossed his hands in the air before he sat on the bed. “Gods! Faramir you are a better man as me in this!” He fell silent and stared out of the window next to the bed. “How could you make your peace with knowing that she loved someone before, whom one took another as his wife and the second did die? Just how big is your heart my friend?” He shook his head in silent wonder and marvel at the capacity for love and forgiveness that his friend seems to possess endlessly. He knew he could not have done the same in Faramir’s situation.
Faramir looked off into the distance when he answered Éomer in a hushed voice.
“We all have our skeletons in our closets, Éomer. I am no exception from this universal rule.”
The man next to him nodded and left it at that. “It is better for Elboron to stay with you for now, I fear. Twice she fell in love and twice fate took it from her again, and then, when she was falling for a third time, Éowyn closed off too much in fear to lose again and this lead to the situation we have now in the end. She will need a time to sort her mind out and to heal and this time fully as I hope before she can take on him again.”
Faramir gave his consent and thus it happened that Faramir became a single father. Although it pained him to see, his friends in such pains and hurts. In his eyes, Éowyn did not deserve them and a great sadness it was to Faramir to watch her be in thus. She so deserved to be happy… Why did the one give her the long life of the elves when she was hurting so much? It made no sense to him.
When later Aragorn came in with his little son and two other little ones that he knew well by now, Faramir was confused.
Behind the King, the Maia known as the Herald of the Lord of the air also entered the room. Eonwe was not easily confused but this entire situation managed to do that with ease! What had Olorin been thinking? With a sight, he watched the man inform the confused looking child of his friend that he was now the official guardian of three and not one child. Since the one had decided so. The mighty Herald settled onto a chair, this would take a longer while to explain he was sure.
Night had fallen when both had left the still highly confused and lost feeling Faramir again. The three little ones had taken to each other with ease and slept now, snuggled together inside his big bed next to him. He could not join them in their rest. Too much went through his head.
Eonwe had explained to him that Eru had indeed a few troubles to place him in the past.
Since he had been fated to do what he did in the war and was what he were to begin with. In addition, there had been all the pleas and complains on behalf of the Kinslayers in Mandos Halls that had to be solved too somehow. As it looked, he had decided to give them a chance to redeem themselves without the oath to hinder them, even their father and Lord had become one. Feanor had to leave these shores together with the Herald in a short time. He was no longer allowed to stay in Arda. He would get his judgment in Aman and there he would have to pay penance for his doings to the Valar.
His sons and the Noldor other elves who had committed crimes had to stay and help the humans for a long while for penance.
Until then, Faramir, his child, the reminding elves here in Arda such as the Greenwood elves and some other humans that the one had given immortality too out of a point no one knew, would be allowed to stay too. Then they would have to leave with the Kinslayers in the end.
All Eonwe could tell Faramir about the humans was that the one had willed it and so it would happen. He too had no clue of the why.
Faramir, well he had some but waited until they were confirmed or not. He had already enough problems himself to solve. Deciding it to be a night the man tried to get some rest.
Step Four: Do not let elves take over your life and confuse you endlessly, or you will end up in situations that you never wanted to end up in…
“Ah Hah! Here he has been hiding out on us…look Amras, I found our elusive friend!” Faramir woke to the cheery voice of one of the twin sons of Feanor from his fitfully slumber. “Watch your volume you insensitive Ork! Can’t you see that he is… never mind, now he is awake…” The second twin walked into the sight of the still half-asleep man and the little ones in the bed. Sitting up, Faramir clutched his blanked to him like a child and rubbed his eyes; meanwhile his son just took the other edge of the blanked and threw it over his little head to drown the loud elves out.
Both elves cooed at the uniquely cute sight Faramir unknowingly presented to them before one was suddenly roughly yanked out of the sight of the surprised Faramir before the same arm as before took hold on collar of the other distracted twin and removed him from sight too.
Through the thick shawls that hung from the wooden ring that held them under the ceiling to protect the sleepers in the bed from cold winds and such, the voice of the eldest of the brothers could be heard. He was reprimanding his idiotic brothers, as he called them, for waking the human up that rudely.
Together with that of another male who sounded rather stern and somewhat vexed from the behavior of the two. To judge from the tune and choice of the finely chosen words that he used. When both twins called him father in their haste to apologize, Faramir had to gulp.
He had a sudden inkling who just stood a few meters away from his bed at best.
Refusing to feel intimidated he simply left the bed on the other side and walked into the bath chamber next to his sleeping room and closed the door… only to slide down along it rather inelegantly after closing it in his try to avoid to simply fall down. Since his knees had suddenly failed to support him in his shock.
Behind the door, he could hear them quarrel on for a moment before the sudden, “Where has he gone to?” from Amrod stopped it. A soft knock on the door brought Faramir back out of his slight stunned state again.
“Faramir? Are you in there?” It was the concerned voice of Maedhros who asked Faramir this from the other side of the door. Nodding the poor man realized that the elf could not see him just in time. “Yes… I think. I have to clean up. Could you please come back later?” The elf seems to get it right because he almost immediately agreed. “Of course! I apologize for my brothers, Faramir. They can be a little…overwhelming when no one is looking after them.” “No offence taken, it is just…” He trailed off, not certain what to say. “Don’t worry, I understand fully.” Was Maedhros replay and with that, Faramir could hear them leave the room, the two older elves most likely dragging the younger out with them, to choose from the sounds but Faramir did not mind them much. He was just glad that he was left alone for the now!
Rubbing his face the man stood on wobbly feet and went back into the room to get the little ones ready for the day.
When he finally entered the great hall for breakfast, he had to stop to take in the mess he had wrought unknowingly. The great hall looked like it was filled to the rim with elves of all nations and men of Gondor, Rohan, and Dwarfs too, right in the midst of the elves. All were more or less fighting for places to sit and food and it was unbecomingly loud in there. It was, in short words, an utter chaos and he simply took his three little ones out again to go to the kitchens instead to eat there.
There Aragorn caught up with him.
“Saw you take a look on my charming mess, didn’t you?” He told the man with good-natured humor. Both laughed loudly. “Yes. I thought it better for the three to eat here and found out that you send all the little ones here too.” He gave Aragorn an apology smile. “I really got you into troubles, don’t I?” The older man just shook his head.
“Naa, it is fine, really Faramir. We manage slowly. Legolas took already a few back with him to Ithilien and Celeborn did also take one a few. I fear you will have the honor to host some of Feanor’s sons and their former warriors there with Legolas and you until their problems are solved out. Is that ok with you?” He gave Faramir a questioning look. The man in question could only nod. “Sure it is. I have the least troubles with them I suppose.” The king shook his head again. “Actually Ada, err I mean my foster father wants to take Maglor and Maedhros and the two other eldest of them back with him to Rivendell.
To avoid further complications, as he called it.”
Faramir grinned at that. “Must have been a great relieve to you, eh?” He teased the man besides him with a grin. Said man promptly tried to cuff Faramir over the head but failed since the man was used to such from his brother and ducked in time. Much to the amusement of the Lady cook and her helpers who watched the spectacle.
“You just wait until they drive you insane there!” Aragorn told the laughing Faramir grinning, who had hid himself behind the Lady cook in his haste to get away from Aragorn’s ire.
Then the King was called away again to solve another crisis in his hall that had arisen while he wasn’t looking.
Later when the children were playing in the former garden of Faramirs mother, the man tried to do his overdue paperwork. He had a headache of the size of an Oliphant already; luckily, this was the last report for the day. Suddenly the papers in his hand vanished and were replaced with a mug, filled with steaming hot tea.
“Wa…?!” Faramir looked up, right into the concerned face of one of the red haired twin brothers.
“You look much too pale.” The elf told the flabbergasted man. “King Aragorn told us to stop you from overdoing it and to give you this herbal tea. He said you can blame him if you want.” The elf grinned wickedly in the end. Faramir choose to say nothing at all and took a sip of his tea instead to cover his anger. No use in hitting the messenger however infuriating he was, he knew. He would get even with his King later.
Behind the two Arwen laughed at the scene.
“Stubborn isn’t he?” The elf in his front asked the queen in his mirth seeing Faramir ignore him mulishly. “Oh, you have no idea, Amrod, trust me! He can be worse as my beloved husband if he want to. I pity Aragorn, he will get back on him for that cheek later and our good Faramir is good in getting even.” All laughed, even Faramir. He turned and looked amused at the queen. “Of course I will! He is doing such much too often lately to me and needs a little reminder that I am, against his believe not as helpless as he thinks me to be.” Arwen and Faramir grinned at each other.
“Need a few pointers?” She asked him sweetly what had the elves that were in the garden with her and him laugh madly. Faramir nodded eagerly what had them all laugh harder. “Surely, my Lady! One can never have enough blackmail material against him as well as you know yourself.” Both grinned at each other like cats that understood each fully what had Amrod sit down next to the man in tears from his laughter. Holding his stomach the elf tried his hardest to sober up.
“I begin to pity him too, my Lady. As it looks you both are just as bad as the other!” The two in question turned to the elf next to Faramir with innocent smiles. What had the elf lose his grip on his mirth again. Arwen and Faramir just shrugged at each other. Next to Faramir, the second twin sat down on the bench on the other side of Faramir too. “And they say that we are bad!” He told no one in particular.
This had them all dissolve in laughs in no time.
The rest of the late evening flew by and before Faramir knew it, he was walked back from the two brothers to his room. All three had a sleepy child in the arms.“Say, how are you managing them when no one is there to carry them for you?” A grumpy Amrod asked Faramir, still not have come to terms with it that Faramir had simply put Elured into his arms before he could refuse and then had done the same to Amras with Elurín. Under the laughter and teasing of Arwen no less.
The man was good in distracting them; he had to give Faramir that.
They had met their brother Maglor on their way. The singer had laughed outright at his brothers plights and then taken off before the two could complain to him about their treatment. Faramir ignored the elf.
“Stop complaining, brother. They are tired and you are just plain irritating when you do.” Faramir still ignored them. “Do you think he will notice it if we sneak off with them?” Amrod gave his brother a grin. Faramir still ignored the two although he did rue that he had not given the twin children to another elf to carry now.
“Argh! You are impossible!” Amras gave his brother a glare and hoisted the sleepy Elurín up a little to get a better hold on the sleepy elfling. “Do you really want another reprimand from father? Because that is what will surely happen then if Faramir come looking for them at his door.”
That shut the first brother up.
And Faramir still ignored the quarreling brothers behind him with a wide grin.
In his rooms, he put them into the bed of his son in the side chamber this time. Tomorrow he would leave Gondor with his host of new occupants of Ithilien. He wondered still how he would manage there with them but somehow he was certain that Legolas and he would find a way with time.
Behind him, the two elves watched the man lovingly tuck his children in.
He reminded them unknowingly on their own childhood when their father had done the same with them in Aman. What endeared Faramir only more to the two without to know this. With a final kiss on the little heads the man stood and turned to leave the smaller bedroom. He left the door half open in case one would wake and search for him.
Sitting down into a chair near the fireplace he looked at it for a while.
“Do you know why Dior and his Wife have chosen to stay in the halls?” He gave them a questioning look. The twins looked at each other for a moment before both too settled near the fire. One on the rug before it and one on the rim of the overstuffed chair in which Faramir sat. Amras who sat on the rim chose to speak for both.
“We do not know either. The only thing we can think of is that both still had business to work out there. Of what nature it is we cannot tell either.” He looked away from the fire and into Faramirs eyes. “All I can say is that we have no part in the why. Of that, I am certain. Yes, we did kill them, or better said my brothers did, still I don’t think that this is why they chose to stay.” The man nodded at that.
He rubbed his face wearily for a moment.
“I was expecting no less but had to ask, forgive me. I just want to understand.”
The twin nodded. “We know that and expected no less from you. You are a caring man, Faramir. One that really worries about those you feel close kinship or friendship to. We noticed that before. It is only natural for you to try to make sense out of this situation.” He reassured Faramir who smiled up at him at the words. “Thank you for the praise although I think I do not deserve it in this abundance…” He stared back into the fire, suddenly deeply immersed in unpleasant memories of Denethor telling him that he was not worthy enough of any praise. These memories still haunted him some time or another. A sudden twin in his lap got him fast out of his reverie.
“Hey!” he flushed without warning at the sudden nearness of the gorgeous elf in his lap. Amras just gave him an unrepentant grin. “You were doing it again.” Faramir could only blink at the unashamed elf. “Pardon me?” Amras smiled softly at Faramir and before the man could recover from that, the nose of the twin touched his suddenly when the elf leaned forward.
“Drowning in your memories.” Amrod quipped in from his position on the floor. Amras nodded at that. “Aragorn and many here have told us stories of how your stepfather treated you in the past.” He gave the human in his captive a thoughtful look. His brother got up behind him and rounded the chair to finally lean over the top to enfold Faramir into his arms too. What made the man whip his head around to look at the other twin surprised at the sudden touch.
“I wasn’t!” He told both, fully ignoring the nearness for a moment.
Somehow, both managed to look much more delicate and smaller as they really were. Both twins being nearly a head taller as Faramir when standing currently looked somehow less intimidating as usually. How they did it, was beyond Faramir but they did and it was confusing him to no end. Amras wiggled a little around what brought Faramir’s grey eyes back to the twin in his lap instantly.
“Ahh, but you see, you did.” He told the man before he could protest. “Oh yes.” His twin agreed from behind Faramir. “And we can’t have you do that, now can we?” Amrod told the wide-eyed Faramir when he looked back at him with a sincere smile.
The two had backed him up against an imaginary wall skillfully, the poor man realized slowly.
He racked his head how he could get out of this sticky situation again without to make a complete fool out of himself and found none. Looking at the ceiling for a moment Faramir tried to gather his gathered wits before he gave Amras a stern glare.
“You do this on purpose!” He accused the twin in his lap who just smiled back at him at his words; with a half scowl half smile. The elf shrugged his shoulders. “Naturally we do. And aren’t you humans say that all is fair in love and war? He told the now utterly confused Faramir before he suddenly leaned in and kissed Faramir ere the man had time to react.
It wasn’t an innocent peek or a soft kiss. Rather it was one of those kisses, which steal your thoughts away.
Before Faramir knew what had hit him he had already a demanding tongue in his mouth that dueled with his in a heated war for dominance that he lost equally fast as his wits before. For long moments the only thing that Faramir was aware of was the maddening slide of Amras tongue against his then the elf let suddenly go on him again.
For a long moment the elf just stared deeply into Faramir’s eyes before he suddenly left the lap of the man and went after his brother out of the door. In the door entrance, he turned around one time more to look with eyes filled with unrestrained desire at the flushed human in the chair. What made Faramir flush even harder and wiggle in his seat. “My twin and I happen to know what we want and how to get it too, dear Faramir. I wish you a good night.” With that he simply left and closed the door softly behind them.
He left a completely befuddled and aroused Faramir behind.
Blinking for a few seconds the man stared at the door for a while before he threw his head back with a laugh. “Oh Eru! Those two will be the death of me if I do not watch out!” He told the ceiling earnestly in his chagrin.
Step five: Do not, I repeat do not share blankets on the road…
The trip went uneventful until the evening of the second day on the road.
Well, as uneventful as it can be with two elves that constantly tried to flirt with Faramir on every chance they got. And were rebuked deftly from Faramir every time right under the mirthful eyes of their brother. Who watched the spectacle from out of a safe distance together with the rest of the troupe. Curufin had the time of his life while watching his younger brothers get frustrated with the beautiful human prince. Chuckling he watched another attempt on seduction fail when the human had suddenly to inspect the rear of their riding company. He chuckled again at the sight of their scowls.
He had to give it to Faramir of Gondor and Ithilien, the man was witty enough to avoid it to let them catch him alone with them every time.
This time he outright laughed and nearly fell from his horse in his mirth. What got him twin glares from his aggravated brothers and a many amused ones from the elves and humans around him. Oh, how he wished Celegorm and Caranthir could watch this epic fails too! This time the third youngest of Feanor’s sons had to lean over to avoid falling from his horse because he was laughing so hard now that it hurt.
Amras and Amrod scowled darkly at their silly older brother and finally ignored him after a while.
Wishing the tears out of his eyes Curufin tried to calm down. At first, he had been angry to have to watch the twins, now he was glad as one could be that he had to. To think what all he would have missed, if he had not agreed to do this! The elf barely got down from his mirth in time to watch the man ride over to one of his warriors to hold a conversation with the Ranger. Curufin could hardly wait for the night to approach so he could write a letter to his older brothers about the newest folly of their youngest.
This was too good to miss out! He could already imagine the envy of Celegorm and Caranthir in his mind when they did read this.
It wasn’t that the man was scorning his brothers or that he was leading them on, oh far from it. Otherwise, he would have killed Faramir already, redemption be damned, no one played his brothers’ a fool if he had a say in it! He looked the man appraisingly over for a third time this day. Faramir seemed unperturbed at the glares of his brothers. On his side, the poor Ranger sweated profoundly under the icy glares that they were sending his way.
Curufin could not blame the poor man.
He knew how the gaze of his brothers and himself could unnerve already an elf, least a mortal. They were famous for their glares after all. He grinned. A wild and feral thing that scared the Ithilien Ranger next to him a few paces further and away from Curufin in the man’s fright without his notice. The elf silently mused that Faramir was most likely one of those men that were for keeps once they chose a final partner, and not to be trifled with in any way. Curufin wondered idly if his younger brothers did realize what they got themselves into this time. Shrugging the smith was sure they did not but did not care for once. Amras and Amrod were old enough to know what they did. And Faramir was it too in human standards and seemed to know exactly what they were up to and how to rather skillfully, evade them.
He shook his black hair and rode on.
Unknowingly from Curufin he was watched too, from Faramir. The man had tried to evaluate the elven smith since the beginning of their journey. The elf was taller as the twins even and dark as the night. A fine contrast to his brothers Faramir mused. Alright, the elf had quite a temper so much he had already found out too but generally speaking he was rather pleasant to have around. Curufin Feanorion was learned in Lore and obviously a fantastically good smith. And he knew it, that much was sure.
The first thing he had said to Faramir after being introduced to him was a question. About the whereabouts of the smith that had forged his sword. Not because Curufin wanted to talk to him, oh no! He wanted to find the poor man to kick him out of his smithy for being obviously a failure for their guild in general to judge from his work as he told Faramir in his blunt way.
Faramir being himself as usual just blinked and then pleasantly told him that he was very sorry that they had no time for that, before he asked Curufin sweetly if he could please watch his son for a moment. With that, he had given into his instincts and simply gave the surprised elf his son Elboron before Curufin knew what hit him to ride with him for a while.
Whilst ducking away fast to mount his horse and lead them out of Gondor under the rather amused gaze of Maedhros and his other brothers.
It had done the trick. The elf watched his mouth and temper abruptly in the presence of the curios child who earnestly asked him questions about metals with a sweet smile and so, distracted the elf unknowingly rather fast from his former ire.
Luckily for the poor human smith in Gondor.
After that, the elf had given him stares all the way long. Faramir knew that Curufin tried to assess him as he tried to evaluate him. Both had a silently stalemate for the time being and both knew it. The man noted amused that his son Elboron rather seem to search the company of the elf lord over the entire ride. His son loved the smithies and often was he found in them watching the smiths at their work. Out of a safe distance of course. He headed his father’s wish to stay out of trouble all the time so far what made Faramir glad.
Having the elven smith riding with them gave his curios little mind the unique chance to ask one all of his questions.
Faramir wondered from which side of the family his son got that interest but did nothing to hinder his son. What in turn made Curufin glad since he rather enjoyed the child’s curiosity about his chosen profession immensely in secret. And that the boy wasn’t easily scared away from his rather blunt way to speak was a plus too in his mind.
Like the cunning father, the son brushed the most off with enamoring smiles and that was that.
He wondered silently about the mother. He had heard, as all others had, too, of the divorce of the pair and of what had brought it on. He had seen the sad sight of the woman shortly in Gondor. The pain her eyes had even made him shudder seeing it into one that young. What made him sad, the woman was outstanding even for the standards of his own kin and from what he knew, and she did not deserve the damage she had in her mind and soul.
What a waste the elf thought. She would need a long time to heal from all her inner wounds and would go to Rivendell with his brothers. The healers there could help her better he had been told.
The man, he was a surprise for the elf.
He never seemed to get irritated or uptight. Not even at his brothers and that made him wonder. Faramir was always kind to everyone, gallant even. The females of the group practically flogged to the man. What had his brothers double their efforts to keep them on distance and made him laugh to watch them in their follies.
He had to agree on his eldest brothers assessment before the ride, concerning Faramir, the man was really something to behold.
Polite to a fault and obviously well learned in Lore and the laws and customs of even the Eldar; the latter made him a good debate partner for Curufin with ease. As well as Faramir’s skills in both, Sindarin and Quenya what made it easier for the elf to talk with the man. His skills in Lore and fast thinking had the others around them listen to their conversations with glee since he matched Curufin in that much to their and the elf’s amusement. He was sharp and had a soothing air about him that was rivaling that of his adored eldest brother.
Grudgingly Curufin had to admit that he begun to like the man in his own way and no one was more surprised at that revelation as the elf himself.
When nightfall came to them, the sudden storm came with it too.
Rain and winds soon had the most riders stay from their designed paths and before they all realized it, some had vanished from the traveling group.
Curufin seeing the dilemma of Faramirs captains took hold of the situation and ordered them all to gather everyone up and to make camp. It would be stupid and useless to search for the missing elves and men in the storm and so everyone did what the Elf Lord told them rather fast.
Looking out into the chaos around them, Curufin just hoped that the others were fine and went into the tent that he had claimed with the children of the missing man. Why they clung to him out of all people, he couldn’t fathom but they did and so Curufin ended up with the brats. What unnerved him slightly, to be honest.
The others were on their own for now.
The door to the small hut opened rather harshly when Faramir run it halfway in because the stupid thing had been locked. He was thrown inside from his sudden momentum and the wind blowing ruthlessly at his back and did land rather hard on the crude flooring of the hut. Behind him, the figures of the twins brought the horses into the small thing with them. They had tried to find the missing people from their group and too lost their bearings in the chaotic storm. Agreeing that it was of no use they had searched for shelter and found the hut by sheer luck alone.
They needed all three of them to get the door back closed since the wind had become rather strong in the last hours.
All three sunk to the floor rather gracelessly after they managed it.
Rubbing his hurting arm and back Faramir squinted at the elves in the darkness. “Now this wasn’t exactly how I envisioned our travel to Ithilien.” The two chuckled at that. “I rather think not, is this storming a normal occurrence here?” What Faramir thought to be Amras asked that sounding rather tired to the man. “No. Normally it is peaceful at this time of the year. I can’t remember the last time such a storm has hit the land here in this time of the year.” He stood and carefully made his way through the almost completely dark room to the herd to make a fire to dry them up and to get warm again.
Concentrating on what he was doing Faramir went on.
“Storms such as this one only hit the land in autumn and winter. But normally not in late summer like we have now.” He told the elves that had also gotten busy behind him and took their soaked saddles off the horses to rub them dry as best as they could.
“So this is extraordinary, how considerate of the weather.” Amrod had asked this time of that he was sure and Faramir looked behind him to confirm his thought and was proven true. He slowly got better in keeping them apart from the voices and the way they spoke alone. Amrod was more the mischief-maker of the pair and Amras was the more frank one of them.
He got up when the fire was finally burning merrily in the herd and went over to help them with his own mount.
Along the route, many of such huts had been building since the peace. To give travelers like them a chance to survive in such a storm. He had them regularly checked on and filled with necessaries such as firewood and food. Especially in the winter, they were checked out. Often the Rangers found travelers in need this way.
Later the three sat before the fire, stripped down to their loincloths. The hut had warmed up in the last hour and all three were just glad about Faramirs wise forethoughts in the past. It now aided their own survival immensely. Elves and man looked equally battled and wore blue and green bruises from head to toe to show off. As if they had come from a war and not out of a storm.
With Faramir having the worst bruises of them all.
“There on the shoulder, you missed that one Faramir.” Amras pointed at a scratch on the man’s left biceps. Faramir currently tried to put ailment on his many cuts and bruises. As did the twins do it too. He had to admire the economy and efficient way the two treated each other’s wounds. It spoke of the times they had done the same in the past for each other after a fight and at the same time, Faramir tried not to ogle at their wonderful bodies too.
Lean and muscular at the same time, an almost ideal build for a warrior that was used to speed in a fight and to use a bow. He wasn’t aware that he got also checked out from the twins. Only they were more subtle as he was. Whilst trying to be helpful that took an eyeful too.
“And you missed one on the back of Amras on the left side near the kidneys.” He told the elf distracted by his own wound that he tended to right this moment.
“I did? Crap! Turn again, I need to check. I thought I got them all.” Amrod made his twin show him his back again and soon found the rip in the skin that Faramir had spoken about. It was small but nonetheless needed cleaning. “I really did.” With a scowl, the elf went to work and reached for the bowl with the ailment again this night.
In the end he turned again to Faramir who tried to reach one of his cuts on his back and failed miserably. What made him curse softly under his breath.
“Here, let us do that. it is easier this way.” Amrod told the tired looking man and at Faramir’s nod he promptly and deftly went to work along with his brother. Together they needed no time at all to tend to the cuts and bruises that littered Faramir’s back. the man had fallen from his horse twice, once from a branch that had swept him and Amras from their horses and the second time when the horse suddenly reared up in fright from a thunder in the air. The latter had also dislodged Amrod temporary from his mount. In the end all three had walked instead to ride, it had been safer.
Not they checked critically over the big bruise on his back to assess how badly Faramir had been hurt.
Glad to find that he had no broken rips and injured organs as far both could tell they dressed the bruise carefully. Faramir was grateful for their consideration; he was in real pains now, since he had land on the floor when he had opened the door. The other two times he caught his fall just in time to avoid real injuries, he been schooled how to from Mablung and his brother in the past and now was really grateful to both dead men.
“Who told you how to avoid falling too badly?” Amrod mused loudly when he was finished.
Faramir stopped his shrug just in time before the back could hurt too much from the movement. “My brother and my teacher in the Ranchers in my past… both did die in the War of the Ring” He told the elves quietly. The two elves stopped to ask more questions immediately. Having been told what happened to Faramir’s brother in the past war. If his look was any indication then his teacher had met an equally ugly fate if not more.
For long moments Faramir simply stared into the fire and this time the twins let him brood.
This was something different, they understood that all too well themselves. “Is the food ready? Faramir finally asked when he stopped to think about Boromir and Mablung. “I believe so. It looks rather good considering that it is store food and not fresh. We even found some lembas.” Amrod gave the man a curios gaze. “How did you get your hands on those, may I ask?”
Faramir chuckled merrily.
“I am good, aren’t I?” He grinned at Amras and Amrod who had to grin back, Faramir was infectios when he was grinning like that. “Oh stop it and tell already before I give you a cuff over your silly head!” Amras told Faramir in a fake gruffly voice not caring that his own grin spoiled the effort right away.
Faramir still grinned when he answered them.
“Some of Legolas Elves know how to make them and some there are from the Golden Wood. They too know how to make them. I asked for them since they sustain a person of any race for a longer while without to get bad too soon.” He suddenly got up and checked on the store items again. Finally, he returned with a triumphant smile. “I knew I had made the order!” He showed the elves his catch. It was a bottle; dark green glass hid the liquid inside from the light. “Miruver, from Lord Elrond. It is one of the best things that he has ever come up with!” He told the curios elves who looked interested at the bottle now.
“So, this is his famous brew that all talk about?” The man nodded at Amrod. “Yes and it speeds up healing and recovery immensely, trust me!” Taking a sip he gave it to Amrod who also took a swig and then two more after he found out that he liked the taste. Then he gave it to his twin who did the same and gave it back to Faramir.
“Here, you better take the rest. We elves heal faster anyways; you need it more, Faramir. But I agree with you here, that is a fine stuff!” Faramir nodded and drunk the rest out of the bottle. “It is, isn’t it? Many of my Rangers and warriors have already sung high praises for the Lord of Rivendell in the past because of this.” He grew serious out of the sudden. “He rescued many a life with this stuff.” All three fell silent and stared into the fire for a while before they began their meal.
After cleaning up the most of their gear was still wet and clammy.
Amras looked up from his crouch in front of the heap of wet sleep gear inside the hut with a grimace. “They are still too wet to use.” He told the others dismayed. “Then we have to make do with what is stored in the hut I fear.” Faramir answered. He went over to the storage again and after a bit rummaging he found only one bigger blanket that wasn’t eaten into debris from insects inside of it. “Curse it! I have to tell the checkers to lay out more lure for those three times cursed moths.” He looked angrily down at the leftover of former blankets. The elves behind him exchanged a grin at his outburst of unusual anger.
All wore their leggings again since they had been dry enough.
It simply was warmer in them in the hut. Although the two would have normally taken to other measures to warm up this time, they headed the man because all were too tired anyways for something more. Even elves had an end to their stamina and the twin brothers’ were equally tired and cold as Faramir this time.
Slamming the door to the storage closed the man turned around to them and gave them one of his rare scowls.
“I fear we have to share this one here. It escaped the beasts hunger in one piece. Although it was originally thought as an under blanket and not as a cover.” He shrugged softly, still mindful of his bruises. The twins did not mind, meant it that they could cuddle up under it with the beautiful man the entire night.
Not surprisingly, they forgot wisely to mention that detail to Faramir.
The sleeping arrangements were thusly the following. Amras left and Amrod right and the poor Faramir in their middle before he knew what had hit him. Too tired to argue about it with them, he simply gave both a glare when they insisted that he was warmer this way and tried to find a position that was not hurting him too much on the hard floor that was only covered with the rug from in front of the fireplace.
He found it surprisingly easy to fall asleep, even with Amrod’s cold feet always sneaking between his warm ones to warm up and Amras’s cold nose snuggling into his warm neck.
Before he fully fell asleep, Faramir thought that Aragorn had been more then right when he had told him that elves could be a pain, these two undoubtedly fit the description with ease!
The rest of the night, he ended up fighting for the blanked with them and their sleepy limbs of the twins off him. the two reminded him for more than one moment at little greedy octopi when he was woken again from a twin, snuggling up to him so much that he felt uncomfortable. In the end he ignored it forcefully to get some sleep.
Step six: Never let elves seduce you, you will never get rid of them again if you are unlucky enough to accidentally do something as stupid as to forget to think before answering them…
The morning found Faramir in a rather odd position to say at best.
Somehow, over the night both twins had managed it to each trap one part of him in their holds. What meant, that one was snuggled to his back with holding him around the middle close to the twin in his back and his brother at the same time. While the other had somehow managed to move Faramir, half onto his chest to also clasp his arms so around the man that there was absolutely no escape without to wake both up with the move.
What was the last that Faramir wanted to do but had to since he really needed to step outside!
In the end, he disentangled from the two, which was a harder work as he had thought it to be and walked out into the much less stormy weather to relieve himself.
When he entered the hut again the two cunningly intercepted his way to the clothing pile and wrestled him down between them again with ease. What got them another glare from Faramir in less than twenty-four hours with ease. “Would you mind letting me get dressed? I am cold and the weather is better too. We need to get back.” He wasn’t sure if they really listened to him since both currently stared down at him with identically burning stares that made him rather uncomfortable and feeling slightly aroused. Much to his embarrassment, he could feel himself getting hard in his pants.
What he stubbornly ignored, No Way was he giving into their wiles however alluring they were without to put up a fight!
Besides that, his back pains made him rather irritated this morning. The reaction of him earned him a grin from each twin. “Feeling a little aggravated this morning aren’t we?” Amras teased him with a smile. The man just nodded. “You would do too if you had to fight the entire night with you two for the blanket and not being used as a pillow from you two!” He told the twins rather hotly. What earned him a soft laugh from both. Amrod had the grace to look a little sheepish down at Faramir. “Oops! Seems you found out why our brothers refuse to sleep in the same bed with us.” He told the man good-natured.
What had his brother look at Faramir equally embarrassed. “Well, that and that they tell us that we have the tendency to cuddle them half to death in our sleep.” He eyed the suddenly red-faced Faramir with a knowing smile before he spoke again. “Ah, so it is safe to assume we did that to you too?” He grinned when the man looked away from both blushing even harder. Leaning down until he came to rest on the broad chest of the man, he looked at Faramir for a while before he spoke again.
Only this time his voice sounded rather husky what send soft shivers down Faramir’s spine.
“Was it really so bad to lie in our arms, Faramir? Our brothers I do understand but our lovers never complained about it.” His passionate gaze caught the alarmed one of the man and held it captive against Faramir’s will. “I will not lye, we desire you. Both of us do… does that knowledge repulse you, Faramir?” His twin had moved down next the two to rest his upper body on one arm and he looked down at Faramir with and an equally searing gaze as his twin.
Faramir could not help it; he honestly shook his head at the question, not trusting his voice right now.
He was rewarded with two blinding smiles from the two elves.
He coughed shortly to clear his troth before he spoke. “Not really. I know about the nature of elven twins and the shared soul that they usually have… ack, stop that Amrod!” Before he could talk on and himself out of the dire situation with it, Amrod stopped the man with a quickly licking at Faramirs nose, having rightfully guessed what their captive was up too.
Faramir rubbed at his nose indignantly with one hand while fighting his fiend off with the other. What had both twins laugh softly at him. Amras turned Faramir’s face back to him with a finger softly guiding it around on one side.
At the same time Amrod ceased his assault and simply begun to play with the hair of the man.
“Now, now Faramir, no talking out of here this time!” He gave the glaring man a toothy smile. “We will clear this up today once and for all.” His twin nodded begun to tease Faramir’s ear with a finger until the man held one hand over it. “There is nothing to clear up here, Amras.” He told the twin on his chest whilst glaring at the other. “I don’t understand why you two pursue me like this anyways.” He told the first twin again in all earnestly. “I…” He was stopped from a finger at his lips from Amras. “Didn’t I just tell you that you can’t talk yourself out this time?” He told the slowly panicking man teasingly. Shaking his head at the look that Faramir gave him, the elf simply settled back into his former position and smiled at Faramir.
“Faramir, dear Faramir… you really are a treasure, do you know that?” At the surprised shake of the head, he went on in the same husky voice from before. “But you are. And eventually we will get you. Fighting will only makes it worse for you, you know.” His look shortly turned thoughtfully before the intense gaze was back fully directed at Faramir again. “Actually we would have taken you to our bed already, in a way, when we first met you in my mind…if you would not have suddenly vanished out of it again! What was rather unfriendly a thing to do, I might say and you dared to stay away for full four Centuries too no matter what we tried to find you!” Here both pouted at the oddly amused man.
Faramir couldn’t help it he had to laugh at their looks.
“Sweet Gods! You two are simply impossible! What were your parents thinking on letting you two loose on the poor world?” He got out between his guffaws. What earned him mock twin glares from both. “Why, thank you Faramir!” Amrod finally told the man with a smile in the end. Both enjoyed the now somewhat less tense looking face of the man in their hold.
“They always told us that they made us just right.” He added after a moment what had Faramir dissolve in a fit of giggles under Amras. The latter couldn’t help it, he darted down and kissed the smiling lips.
Faramir was distracted from his mirth from the feeling of soft lips on his and a tongue that licked teasingly at his bottom lip before it daringly darted into between his lips when he gasped in shock. From there the man could only react, no thought was making any sense anymore to Faramir for as long as the kiss took place.
The wet muscle teased his into a sensual and erotic dance that left him panting soon. And when another tongue licked along the shell of his ear, the man was lost into the sensual feelings that that the two created. Both seemingly worked in accord to make him give in and Faramir found out that he wasn’t strong enough to resist them both at the same time.
His last coherent thought was that he surely was making an error here but that too was lost when the twin on his chest began to move his hips against Faramir’s in a sensual way that had him break their kiss to moan softly into Amras’s greedy mouth. Soft hands began to take his clothing off and soon all the man could feel was soft, hot skin move against his own needy body in a rhythm as old as life itself.
Soon he was moved to lie on his side and the two started their assault on their sweet captive in earnest.
Harsh breaths filled the hut along with soft moans and screams coming from all three of the writing bodies in front of the fire on the rug.
One hand twisted a nub on his chest while another began to grasp Faramir’s shaft to sensually stroke it up and down in an maddening pace while he buried his hands into soft, long hair to caress pointed ears with the fingers until the elf he held onto groaned and squirmed under his assault on his sensitive ears.
All the while, that happened at his front, another hand run soothingly along his bruised back. Cleverly avoiding the hurting places meanwhile, the other hand began to caress his butt. Until a finger began to run teasingly along the cleft between both swells until Faramir could not help as to move his hips back and forth at the dual assault of the hand on his penis and the fingers teasing his entrance at the same time in an perfect synchronicity.
That felt better as anything he had ever felt before in his life. And it got even more intense when the now wet finger suddenly and softly breached the tight ring of muscle to slip inside of him to slide softly in and out of it. Two more slowly added themselves to the first and teased the man until he grounded down on them every time his hips moved backwards freely and from all alone.
Husky and desire laden voices pleaded softly in his ears as one. Asking him gently to let them both love him, to let them inside of him, to have him until the human could not take it anymore and simply gave in and began to plead to them to take him. Husky laughs answered his soft and breathless pleas.
Again, the voices assaulted Faramir.
Asking him if they could keep him forever and before he could answer, he felt the fingers leave his ass and the others were taken from his arching arousal at the same time. What made him open his hazy eyes in confusion for a moment and look at the one in his line of sight.
The stormy gaze was filled with such a yearning, such a want and so tender and pleading at the same time that it took the rest of his breath away. And Faramir found himself back begging for their touch. Again the voices asked their question; whilst looking into the eyes of Amras Faramir carved in fully and said yes before he could think clearly again.
The smile was blinding that he got as an answer from the twin in his front while the other kissed Faramir between his shoulder blades. Then suddenly Amras was kissing him again while Amrod suddenly breached Faramir’s body with one swift trust. It hit his sweet spot almost instantly with much force and send the mind of the man reeling in the hazy, wonderful mix of pleasure and pain.
The twin kissing him moaned along with Faramir as if he was feeling the same as the two others before he suddenly moved together with his other half until both Faramir and the twin still inside of him lay onto his body.
Before Faramir could protest about the treatment his penis was suddenly guided from an oily hand to the opening of the one under him and the next trust of the twin on his back made him trust involuntary forward into the sweetest heat he had ever known. For a moment, the two let him recover from their assault before Amrod set a rhythm that Faramir couldn’t help to follow. Soon the dual assaults on the man, of a hot tight glove embrace his arousal while a hot and hard penis trust merciless into him was too much for him. He simply agreed to everything they asked of him with what seemed to be one voice out of the sudden, coming from two mouths in complete concord.
They seemed to chant something as one, what they made him repeat it back to them word for word, before he lost it at the almost same time as they did and came harder as ever before in his life. He never saw the soft golden glow that surrounded all three of them for some seconds before it dissolved again into three lights that seem to enter the bodies of them again.
Neither got he aware, before he passed out that his eyes took on a strange quality that would make it clear to every other elf, which looked at them in the future that he was bound to an elven fea and, to whom it belonged.
Step seven: Live happily ever after…
Centuries later, he still told them on every chance that presented itself to him that he was really mad at them about their tricking him into binding their souls together.
Not that all of them really cared anymore anyways.
Such a bound could only be broken from the One, and he stubbornly refused to do so. Much to Faramir’s chagrin, who could not blame the him for it. After all, he should have paid attention to the cunning twins.
Therefore, he was stuck with the two elves in the end for good. And that was that.
Curufin made wide eyes at the arguing trio when they finally found back to the camp the day later but refused to comment. He only gave Faramir his condolences for having those two pests now stick to him for eternity. What had the man laugh that hard that he needed to sit down and his husbands scream in rage at their smug looking brother for a while.
Éowyn was send sailing a year later and when the rest came to the shores two hundred years later, she took Faramir to a side to tell him that she had married again too. The very elf she had met on that night at Helms Clam and that had died defending her people and her.
In short, Haldir looked rather pleased when Faramir just gave him a smile and congratulated both to their happiness.
Elboron still did pester Curufin from time to time. When he wasn’t caring for his wife and children or working in his forge.
The twin sons of Dior grew into a fine pair of elves under the care of their foster fathers and ended up mating Noldor to the horror of their real parents much later. Moreover, off all the possible matches it was by sheer accident actually that they ended up with the twin sons of one of the very elves who had once left them in the woods in the end. What made life a little complicated for a while since Elu Thingol and Dior both wanted to know from the trio how that had come to pass.
Nevertheless, they survived their ire too with the help of others such as the twin’s family who helped grinning out in hiding them.
The biggest surprise was the poor Éomer who, as it turned out after a while, was immortal too. And was promptly pursued by Elrond’s sons…but that is another story…

This was funny, light-hearted, and a definitely unseen pairing—or rather, trio. Again I like that your characterisation of elves isn’t the usual ‘perfect beings’, which makes them easier to relate to. I also think you did a wonderful job of explaining just how such a relationship came about. I liked any and all scenes showing Faramir interacting with his children now that they went from one to three, (I’m a fan of Faramir in a father role). I hope you’ll continue to share your works here. Cheers!
