7 Years of Faramir Fiction
The Faramir Fiction Archive is seven years old today. On this day seven years ago, a first version was put together by one half of your friendly admin duo and a link emailed to the other half. The site was unveiled to the public 5 days later, on March 4, 2004.
For the fourth anniversary, we asked all authors and artists to search your hard drives for any half-forgotten, never posted stories, art or challenges, send them in for a 5 day posting fest. On the fifth anniversary, we asked the readers to do something back for the authors and artists whose work built this archive, and go back to their all-time favourites to comment and thank the author/artist for her work. And last year, on the sixth anniversary, we asked everyone which story they thought was still missing from the archive after six years, that is to say, to send in their challenges for the story they’ve always wanted to see.
And now, for our seventh birthday, we’d like to ask you to write, draw, create something inspired by the number seven. Whether it’s a 7 line drabble, or a story inspired by one of the seven sins (anger, greed, sloth, pride, lust, envy, gluttony) or a drabble each, the or one of the many sevens that keep popping up in Tolkien’s work— whatever gets your creative juices flowing, as they say…
No deadlines, no word limits — total freedom to do whatever you want. We’d be honoured if you’d want to help us celebrate our birthday!

Three times three
What brought they from the foundered land
Over the flowing sea?
Seven stars and seven stones
And one white tree.”from: ‘The Palantir’, The Two Towers

Wow, congratulations! :)
I for myself liked the idea of a “7”-inspired piece. There are seven days in a week, seven sins, seven virtues, seven… what more is there, fitting for some stories?
